Enigma
Enigma
An Enigma is a Leopard Gecko which is a dominant morph. When classifying an Enigma, there are a few common features which all Enigmas seem to have. When they hatch out, their spots tend to be blotches rather than bands. When looking at their tails, the tails are almost all white. As they grow older, the spotting increases and sometimes turns into speckles.
Genetics
Enigma: dominant
History
The Enigmas are considered a random genetic mutation. In 2006, Mark Bell produced the first Enigma when it randomly hatched out of one of his Leopard Gecko groups.
Enigma Crosses
Tangerine
Albey from Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles and Matt Baronak from A&M Geckos have crossed the Enigmas into the Tangerine Lines producing some different looking Tangerines.
Blizzard
Albey Scholl from Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles has hatched the World's first Tremper Albino Blazing Blizzard Enigma. It can be seen below. With the Tremper Albino Blazing Blizzard, there are two recessive traits in play, Albino and Blizzard, and a dominant trait, Enigma.
Murphy Patternless
The Murphy Patternless Enigma is a combination morph: one dominant trait (Enigma) and one recessive trait are in play (Murphy Patternless). In the case of the the Murphy Patternless Albino Enigmas, there are two recessive traits (Albino and Murphy Patternless) in play and one dominant trait (Enigma). A&M Geckos was the first to produce an Albino Murphy Patternless Enigma on June 27, 2008.
BEE
Albino
The color expression of the Enigmas is interesting nonetheless. The eyes of the Bell Albinos tend to be red while the Tremper Albinos have orange colored eyes. Just like the other albinos, the body of the Enigma Albinos do not express black pigments.
Bell
The Bell Enigmas were the original Albino Enigmas. As mentioned above, they do not express black pigments and their eyes are red.
Tremper
The Tremper Enigmas were the second type of Albino Enigmas to be produced. Like the Bells, they do not express black pigments either. They also have orange eyes rather than red.
RAPTOR Enigma (Nova)
Enigma RAPTORs have been produced by A&M Geckos. They are calling the Enigma RAPTOR, Nova.
Rainwater
On June 24th, 2008, Alberto Cadolini hatched the first Rainwater Albino Enigma. It can be seen below.
